Final Webinar/Field Tour (AMC Forestlands) in Forest Climate Change Series Announced

We are excited to share details of the final event for our 2022-23 webinar & field tour series!
Webinar, May 10, Noon to 1 pm (ET)
Field Tour, May 12, 9am-3pm (departing Orono ~7:15am, return ~4:30pm)
Our May panelists are members of the Appalachian Mountain Club’s research team: David Publicover, AMC Forest Ecologist & Senior Staff Scientist; Sarah Nelson, Director of Research; Steve Tatko, Director of Maine Conservation & Land Management; and Carolyn Ziegra, Research Forester.
The field tour will cover a variety of sites on AMC’s Pleasant River Forestlands, including stops covering fish passage restoration project; ecological reserve in our silver maple flood plain forest; carbon project on the Silver Lake property; Wabanaki cultural use permits; PCT and sensor site; precommercial thinning; deer yard management and shelterwood systems.
Registration for the field tour is required and limited to 25 attendees and includes lunch and transport from Orono (carpool vans for all attendees will be available at the KI gate meeting spot).
