Forest Opportunities in Maine Report Released
The Forest Sector & Rural Community Needs
The University of Maine’s Center for Research on Sustainable Forests (CRSF) has released a new report on collaborative discussion between the Forest Opportunity Roadmap/Maine (FOR/ME) Executive Council and research leadership from CRSF and Maine EPSCoR. The discourse focused on the forest sector and rural community needs.
The report highlights the discussions among attendees that the UMaine team will use to inform research proposals to the National Science Foundation on research and development capacity in forestry-related sectors, education components, and incorporating new technologies in Maine’s heritage industries. The FOR/ME council also provided feedback and ideas on how the five goals of Maine’s Science & Technology plan could tie-in to the industry.
