Maine Woodland Owners: Valuable Resource for Non-Industrial Woodland Owners
Do you own or manage a small woodland property in Maine? Maine Woodland Owners was incorporated in 1975 as a nonprofit organization by a group of nonindustrial woodland owners to assist each other in learning how to manage their woodlands. Their goal is to help each other deal with the challenges that small woodland owners face, such as tax issues, public use of private lands, land use regulations, protecting wildlife habitats and water quality, marketing of forest products, and how to find reliable foresters, loggers, and other professionals.
The mission of Maine Woodland Owners to to promote stewardship of Maine’s small woodland resources; provide information for better forest management; and advocate for and reach out to Maine’s small woodland owners. For more information on the benefits of becoming a member, click here.
